Dumpster / Skip / Yard Bag

A heavy-duty open-top bag for construction, yard and mixed waste — lifted by loops or fork sleeves, and built to take abrasion and punctures.

A dumpster, skip or yard bag is an open-top woven bag built for mixed waste: rubble, offcuts, soil, packaging and anything else a site clears in a batch. It replaces a skip where the container does not have to come back.

The load is the problem. Mixed waste is heavier and sharper than the powders a standard FIBC is designed for, and it is usually thrown in rather than poured. That is why the fabric is heavier, the base is reinforced, and the lifting points are built either as four loops for a crane or as fork sleeves for a plain forklift.

Tell us the heaviest and sharpest thing that will go into the bag, how it is loaded, and whether loaded bags get dragged across concrete. Those three answers set the specification more than the nominal size does.

Product Summary

A heavy-duty open-top bag for construction, yard and mixed waste, lifted by four loops or handled by fork sleeves. It is built for abrasion and puncture, not for dust control.

Core Construction

The body is a plain woven bag with an open top and a reinforced base, built heavier than a standard FIBC because the load is mixed, sharp-edged and often thrown in rather than poured. Lifting is by four corner loops, by fork sleeves sewn under the base, or by a combination of both, so the bag can be moved by the equipment a waste site already has.

Because the content is unknown in shape and weight, the specification is set from the worst case the site describes: rubble and offcuts with edges, glass, metal trim, soil and mixed packaging. That worst case drives the fabric weight, the base reinforcement and the loop or sleeve attachment.

Key Benefits

BenefitWhy It Matters
Takes mixed, sharp-edged wasteHeavier fabric and a reinforced base resist the punctures and cuts that a standard powder bag cannot.
Two handling optionsLoops for crane or forklift jib, fork sleeves for a plain forklift, so the bag fits the equipment already on site.
Folds flat when emptyEmpty bags stack and store in a small space, which matters on sites with no covered storage.
Cheaper than a skip for one-way loadsWhere the container does not come back, a bag is a lower-cost way to move the same material.

Configuration Options

Option GroupAvailable RangeNotes
Size80 x 80 x 80 cm to 95 x 95 x 95 cm (typical)Size is set from the skip or truck bay the bag has to fit.
SWL / Safety FactorSWL 1,000-1,500 kgRated for the dense loads a waste bag usually carries.
LiftingFour corner loops, fork sleeves, or loops plus sleevesSleeve spacing is matched to the forklift you use.
TopOpen top, optionally with a fitted coverA cover is used where rain would add weight to the load.
BaseReinforced flat baseThe base takes the abrasion when the bag is dragged or loaded with rubble.
Fabric & coating180-220 g/m2 woven PP, uncoatedUncoated fabric drains a little and resists abrasion better than a coated surface.
Printing & packing1-2 colours; baledPrint is usually limited to site identification.

Performance & Range

Typical working range is 1,000-1,500 kg SWL with a reinforced base and four lifting points. The rating assumes the load is evenly distributed and the bag is lifted on all intended points; dragging a loaded bag, side lifting and loading sharp material from height all reduce service life and are confirmed per project.

Validation & Testing

In-house checks cover fabric weight, base reinforcement pattern, loop and sleeve stitch counts, and filled dimensions. Third-party testing is arranged on request and quoted separately.

Limitations

Not suitable for fine powders or dusty material, which escape through an open top and an uncoated weave, and not a replacement for a licensed waste container where the site's permit requires one. Sharp, heavy offcuts loaded from height will still cut any woven bag over time.

Selection Guidance

Best For
Construction, demolition and yard waste handled in batches by forklift or crane, where a one-way container is cheaper than a skip.
Consider Alternatives When
The material is fine or dusty, the site must contain liquids, or a permit requires a marked container — in those cases a lined bag or a conventional container is the right answer.
Must Confirm Before Quoting
Worst-case content and weight, loading method, whether bags are dragged, lifting equipment, and whether rain will reach the bags.

Information Required for Quote

  • Worst-case content and weight Required

Describe the heaviest and sharpest thing that will go in, not the average load.

  • How the bag is loaded Required

Poured, tipped, or thrown in from height — each one loads the base differently.

  • Lifting equipment on site Required

Crane, forklift jib or plain forklift forks, so loops or sleeves can be specified.

  • Whether loaded bags are dragged

Dragging wears the base faster than any other handling step.

  • Weather exposure

Whether the filled bags stand in the rain, which adds weight to the load.
