Concrete Washout Bag
A fabric bag that intercepts concrete washout at the wash bay: solids settle inside, water drains, and the set material lifts out whole.
A concrete washout bag sits where wagons or pumps are washed out. Solids settle inside it and the water drains through the base, so the washout does not reach drains, ground or standing water around the wash bay.
It is not a treatment system. The water that leaves the bag is still washout water — alkaline, and regulated where you are — so how it is captured or discharged afterwards stays with the site. What the bag does is remove the solids and stop the material spreading while it drains.
Tell us how much washout one wash produces, how it is discharged into the bag, and how the drained water is handled. That sets the size, the drainage panel and the loops, because the set material is heavier than the volume suggests.
Product Summary
A fabric bag placed where concrete wagons are washed out, so solids settle and the water can be handled separately. It keeps washout out of drains and site ground; the water rules remain the site's.
Core Construction
The bag is a woven body with a porous base area and a reinforced open top, sized to sit under a washout chute or beside a wagon wash bay. Solids settle inside the bag while water drains through the base and side panels, so the material can be lifted out once it has set.
Unlike a dewatering bag, the load is not pumped in — it is discharged from a chute or a pump line at whatever rate the washout produces. The bag therefore has to take impact and splash at the top, and the base has to drain without blocking as the solids build up.
Key Benefits
| Benefit | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Keeps washout out of drains | The bag intercepts the washout at source, so it does not reach surface drains or the ground around the wash bay. |
| Solids come out as a liftable mass | Once drained, the contents can be lifted out whole instead of being dug out of a pit. |
| No fixed pit to install | It can be moved as the washout point moves, which suits sites that are still being built. |
| Empty bags store flat | Spare bags take almost no space, so several can be held on site ready to swap in. |
Configuration Options
| Option Group | Available Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Size | 80 x 80 x 80 cm to 100 x 100 x 100 cm (typical) | Size is set from the volume of washout one wash produces and how often the bag is emptied. |
| Fabric | Woven PP body with a porous base panel | The base panel is selected for drainage without letting solids through. |
| Top | Open top, reinforced, with a splash skirt | A skirt reduces splash on the surrounding ground. |
| Base | Reinforced flat base with a drainage panel | The base is the part that has to drain and then take the weight of set material. |
| Lifting | Four corner loops | Loops are sized for the set material, which is heavier than it looks. |
| Support frame | Used in a simple frame or with support sides | A frame keeps the bag open and upright during use; frame design stays with the site. |
| Packing | Baled | No printing is normally required. |
Performance & Range
Typical bag sizes hold one to several cubic metres of washout per fill, drained over hours to days depending on the mix and the weather. Capacity figures are confirmed against the volume your washout produces per wash, not quoted as a fixed throughput.
Validation & Testing
In-house checks cover fabric weight, base drainage panel attachment, loop stitch counts and dimensions. Third-party testing is arranged on request and quoted separately.
Limitations
The bag drains, so the water that leaves it still has to be managed: washout water is alkaline and its discharge is regulated locally, and that responsibility stays with the site. The bag is not a treatment system and does not neutralise anything.
Selection Guidance
- Best For
- Ready-mix and site concrete washout points, precast yards and piling sites that need to intercept washout without building a pit.
- Consider Alternatives When
- The site's permit requires a lined or bunded washout facility, the washout volume is large enough to need a settlement tank, or the water has to be treated before discharge.
- Must Confirm Before Quoting
- Volume of washout per wash, how the water is handled after draining, whether a support frame is used, lifting equipment, and local discharge rules.
Test & Production Evidence
| Evidence Type | Evidence Note | Stage |
|---|---|---|
| Inspection Record | Batch sheet recording base drainage panel attachment and loop stitch counts. | Production |
| Drawing / Artwork | Dimension drawing for the washout point layout issued before production. | Approval |
Evidence Note
Drawings and batch inspection records can be shared on request. Washout handling and discharge arrangements are the customer's responsibility and are not documented by us.

Information Required for Quote
Volume of washout per wash Required
How much water and solids one wash produces, and how often it happens.
How the washout is discharged into the bag Required
Chute, pump line or hose, and the height it falls from.
How the drained water is handled Required
Where it goes after it leaves the bag — this stays with your site, but we need to know it to advise.
Lifting method for the filled bag Required
Crane or forklift jib, so the loops can be sized.
Whether a support frame is used
A frame keeps the bag open; if you have one, send its dimensions.
