Tubular / Circular FIBC
A seamless circular woven bag for free-flowing powders and granules — the simplest construction to fill, clean and pack, and the lowest cost per tonne moved.
A tubular FIBC is woven as a continuous circular tube, so the body has no vertical side seams. That single detail drives most of its behaviour: fewer seams to leak through, a smooth interior for free-flowing product, and a lower unit cost than any panel construction.
It is the construction we quote most often for mineral powders, granules and pellets that do not need to hold a square shape in storage. Where a buyer needs stackability or a stable rectangular footprint on the pallet, U-panel or baffle constructions are usually the better answer — the tubular body tends to bulge and become barrel-shaped as it fills.
Product Summary
A seamless circular woven bag for free-flowing powders and granules; the lowest-cost standard construction where stackability is not the deciding factor.
Core Construction
The body is woven on circular looms as a continuous tube and closed with a base seam, so there is no vertical side seam in the body. Lifting loops are sewn into the top seam (four-corner or cross-corner), and the top and bottom openings are built to the filling and discharge method the customer uses.
Because the tube is closed rather than panel-sewn, the bag has one body seam to control instead of four. This is why tubular bags are usually the most economical construction per tonne of product moved, and why they are frequently chosen for free-flowing mineral and chemical powders.
Key Benefits
| Benefit | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Lowest unit cost in the standard range | One body seam instead of four panel seams means less sewing time and less fabric waste per bag. |
| Smooth interior for free-flowing product | With no internal side seams, powders and granules discharge more completely and the interior is easier to clean and inspect. |
| Fewer seam paths for leakage | Fine powders escape at seams before they escape at fabric, so fewer seams means fewer places to control. |
| Fits standard filling equipment | The circular body holds its open shape on a filling spout, which keeps manual and semi-automatic filling cycles short. |
Configuration Options
| Option Group | Available Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Size | 75 x 75 x 110 cm to 100 x 100 x 130 cm (typical) | Confirmed per project against the filling line and pallet footprint. |
| SWL / Safety Factor | 500 kg to 1,500 kg SWL | Safety factor and test protocol confirmed at quotation stage. |
| Top | Open top, duffle top, filling spout, with or without skirt | Dust control at filling often decides this. |
| Bottom | Flat bottom, discharge spout, full-drop spout | Discharge spout diameter is set by the material's flow behaviour. |
| Lifting loops | Four-corner, cross-corner, single-loop, two-loop | Loop type follows the lifting equipment at the customer's site. |
| Fabric & coating | 140 to 200 GSM woven PP, optional lamination | Coating is added for moisture and dust control rather than for strength. |
| Liner | None, loose PE liner, glued-in liner | Liner gauge and closure method confirmed against the material. |
| UV stabilisation | Standard UV package; extended package on request | Outdoor storage duration is the input we need from the buyer. |
| Printing | 1 to 4 colours, flexo | Artwork and colour reference required before sampling. |
| Packing | Bales of 10-20 pcs, or cartons | Packing choice affects container loading and unloading labour. |
Performance & Range
Rated for 500-1,500 kg SWL in standard configurations, with the fabric and loop construction set by the confirmed SWL and safety factor. Performance figures in a quotation apply to the confirmed specification only; a change of fabric, loop type or coating is treated as a new specification.
Validation & Testing
In-house checks cover fabric weight, seam strength and bag dimensions on each production run, with first-piece and final inspection recorded against the order. Third-party testing is arranged where the buyer's market or their own procurement process requires it, and is quoted separately.
Limitations
The circular body bulges as it fills and does not hold a square footprint, so this construction is a poor choice where pallet stacking height and stable columns matter. It is also not the right answer where the filled bag has to hold a defined shape in a display or automated handling system.
Selection Guidance
- Best For
- Free-flowing powders, granules and pellets loaded to 500-1,500 kg where cost per tonne, cleanliness of discharge and filling speed matter more than shape retention.
- Consider Alternatives When
- The buyer needs stackable, dimensionally stable bags, or a rectangular footprint on the pallet, or the material is a fine powder that needs a baffle-stabilised body.
- Must Confirm Before Quoting
- SWL and safety factor, filling and discharge method, liner requirement, UV exposure during storage, and the printing/artwork deadline.
Test & Production Evidence
| Evidence Type | Evidence Note | Stage |
|---|---|---|
| Inspection Record | First-piece and final inspection sheets are retained per production batch and can be shared in anonymised form. | Production |
| Drawing / Artwork | Dimensional drawing issued for customer confirmation before production. | Approval |
| Sample | Pre-production sample available for trial filling at the customer's site. | Sampling |
Evidence Note
Inspection records and drawings can be shared with a named buyer on request. Internal batch documents are not published.
